A letter to Brown Memorial's congregation
Dear Brown Memorial AME Church Family,
Embracing A Fresh Vision for Our Future
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is with gratitude, humility, and great expectation that I greet you as your Pastor. I thank God
for the rich legacy of faith, service, and commitment that has sustained Brown Memorial AME Church throughout the years. I am honored to serve alongside you as we seek God's direction for this next chapter in the life of our church.
As we move forward together, I believe God is calling us to strengthen our relationship with Him, deepen our commitment to one another, and expand our impact throughout our community.
We stand at a moment of tremendous opportunity, and I am confident that God will do
exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to His power at work within us
(Ephesians 3:20).
During my first 120 days, I will continue to listen, learn, pray and engage with our congregation,
ministry leaders, and community partners. This season will allow us to build strong relationships,
assess opportunities, celebrate our strengths, and seek God's vision for our future together.
Our focus will be centered on spiritual growth, discipleship, community engagement, leadership
development, economic stewardship, and financial stewardship. We will work diligently to
ensure that Brown Memorial AME Church is a vibrant place of worship, service, fellowship, and
outreach.
As a Kingdom-minded church, we will continue seeking opportunities to serve, support, and
strengthen individuals, families, and communities by sharing the love of Christ and creating
pathways for human flourishing. Through meaningful partnerships and faithful ministry, we will
address the needs of our community while proclaiming the transforming power of the Gospel.
I want every member to know that your voice matters. There will be opportunities for dialogue,
collaboration, and shared vision as we move forward together. We will move with grace, respect,
integrity, and a spirit of unity, always seeking God's will above our own preferences.
As we move forward together in faith, I ask that you come back to in-person worship and
fellowship as we explore, experience, and embrace the goodness of God's power together. There
is something special about gathering as the body of Christ—lifting our voices in praise, encouraging one another in faith, and growing together in God's grace. I believe God has great things in store for Brown Memorial AME Church, and I invite you to be an active part of what He is doing in this season.
The future before us is bright because God is already there. Let us walk together in faith, serve
together in love, and labor together for the advancement of God's Kingdom. With Christ as our
foundation and guide, I am confident that our greatest days of ministry are still ahead.
Thank you for your prayers, your support, and your commitment to the mission of Brown
Memorial AME Church.
Love God. Serve People. Strengthening Communities.
“Live in Love”
Yours in Christ,
Kathy Griffin
