I Am Thankful At All Times

I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. - Psalm 34:1 (KJV)

On April 17th, the Lord entrusted me with the pastoral assignment at Brown Memorial AME Church, and my heart responded with thanksgiving. In this new season, I am reminded that God is worthy of continual praise regardless of challenge, criticism or uncertainty.

God's plans are never hindered by human opinion. While some my question, criticize or oppose what God is doing, many more pray, support, encourage and believe. For that reason, I move forward with confidence, trusting the One who called me.

Lessons from Hannah

As I reflect on the life of Hannah, I am reminded that God's favor often rests upon those whose hearts remain steadfast in difficult seasons. Hannah knew the pain of being misunderstood, ridiculed and burdened by circumstances beyond her control. Yet instead of allowing bitterness to take root, she carried her concerns to the Lord in prayer.

When others failed to understand her tears, God understood her heart.
When her situation seemed unchanged, God was already at work.
Hannah trusted the Lord even before she saw the manifestation of His promise.
When God answered her prayer, she responded with worship and praise.

Hannah teaches us that praise is not reserved for the end of the journey; praise sustains us throughout the journey. Her testimony reminds us that God hears the cries of His people and remains faithful to those who trust Him.

That same truth sustains me today. Throughout my journey, the Lord has been with me every step of the way. He has guided me, strengthened me, corrected me, comforted me, and opened doors that no one could shut.

For that, I am thankful.

A Heart of Thanksgiving

Beloved, life is too precious to be consumed by negativity, bitterness, or the opinions of others. Every day is a gift from God. Every relationship is an opportunity to share His love. Every assignment is a chance to serve His kingdom. A hardened heart cannot advance God's purposes, but a heart filled with love, humility, and praise can overcome every obstacle the enemy places in its path.

Praise, beloved, is the response of a thankful heart. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people. When I look back over my life and see the hand of God guiding, protecting, and providing, I cannot help but bless the Lord at all times. Through every valley and every victory, God has remained faithful.

For that reason, I choose to live each day with a spirit of thanksgiving.

As for me, I choose praise. I choose thanksgiving.

I choose to bless the Lord at all times. Whether in seasons of celebration or challenge, my testimony remains the same.

God has been faithful, and for that I am thankful.

Prayer

Lord, I bless you at all times. Thank you for Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. Help me to maintain a spirit of praise in every circumstance. When challenges arise, remind me that You are still God and You are still worthy of my worship. Fill my heart with thankfulness and let my life reflect Your goodness. Today and every day, I declare that I am thankful. In Jesus' name, Amen.
